Agostino Calcagno was born in Cogoleto (Genoa) in 1949 where he lives and works. Since he was a child he demonstrated great pictorial and artistic ability.

His art is expressed in the most diverse forms, from wood sculpture, to silk-screen printing, to etching and finally, he finds the essence of maximum artistic expression in oil painting.

His favorite subjects are his sea, the inhabitants of his charming town, Cogoleto. His paintings are aimed at capturing and capturing on canvas the glimpses and hidden places of his Cogoleto, his sea.
