Joshua Jensen NAGLE
Joshua Jensen Nagle

Joshua Jensen-Nagle (born in Washington, New Jersey) is a Contemporary Photographer,
recognized as a prominent Canadian Artist after studying Photography at Ryerson University and
establishing his career in Toronto. Best known for his dreamy aerial beaches, expansive
mountainscapes, romantic European vistas and dramatic old-world interiors, Jensen-Nagle’s
immersive, large-scale photos invite viewers to lose themselves within the frameless images, often
evoking emotional, nostalgic or aspirational associations.
In his most recent series’, Endless Summer and Winter, Jensen-Nagle captures scenes of leisure from
a distance, often hanging out of a helicopter, transforming people on beaches and ski-slopes into
colorful specks clustered on long stretches of sand or snow like abstract elements. His bird-eye
views offer a reflection on the artist’s own memories of “childhood summers spent along the New
Jersey shore and winters in the Poconos,” and call upon the viewer to attach their own memories.
Having mounted over fifty exhibitions in the last dozen years, including at the Griffin Museum in
Boston and the Glenbow Museum in Calgary, Joshua has developed a strong standing in the art
world, and is collected widely throughout North America, Europe and Asia.
Highlighted art fair presence includes Art Toronto, Photo London, Context Art Miami, Pulse Miami,
SCOPE Miami, Art New York, Art Palm Beach, and Art Market San Francisco. He has placed his
photographs in numerous private and corporate collections including Microsoft, MasterCard
International, Cirque De Soliel, Transcontinental, Target and Hilton Hotels, and has seen his work
featured in a variety of publications, including Art In America, Canadian Art, Fashion and Harper’s.
