Sandro Cipolletti, painter and sculptor, was born in Rome on 27 August 1963. Innate passion for art in all its expressions. His childhood in the popular suburbs of Rome, which clearly inspired him, significantly influenced his artistic activity. Coming into contact with Sandro Cipolletti’s painting is an engaging sensorial experience. The first impression is that of witnessing the resurrection of a hyper-vitaminized and deliberately naïve metropolitan graffiti, a map of violent colors without any predisposition to compromise, the guide to a tour of trivial spirituality, the present hell of a degraded humanity saved by own instincts. From here unfold paths, snapshots, portraits, flashes of a brutalized and erased Rome, cosmopolitan marginality that vomits its own sense of bewilderment among the cobblestones of the eternal city. Historic portion of the city which is represented in all the virulence of its enjoyable chaos, overlooking the remains of an unintelligible civilisation, which features the babel of crosswords, teasing exclamations, no-artri jokes, foreign languages, without forgetting the roots filtered by the subconscious of a refined primitive. The artist’s works are present in private collections around the world and in some of the most prestigious contemporary galleries.
